What is a Games Friendly Shop?
A Games Friendly Shop is an official retail supporter for the 2004 Commonwealth Youth Games.
Each Games Friendly Shop has completed a customer service-training workshop with La Trobe University and has been equipped with information on the Games.
The training included issues on cultural awareness, enhancing customer service skills and how to help visitors who will be in Bendigo during the Games.
These Games Friendly Shops are your friend when you arrive in Bendigo during November and December. You will be able to recognise them by a poster in their window saying, "We are a Games Friendly Shop."
Feel free to drop in and say hello and check out the fantastic products and services they offer.
Games Friendly Shops are wonderful supporters of the Games and are excited that Bendigo is hosting participants and families from all over Australia and from 24 visiting Commonwealth nations.
Don't forget to visit the Old Post Office in Seymour (50 minutes south east of Bendigo off the McIvor Highway). The Old Post Office Seymour is a Fine Art Gallery featuring 7 rooms of fine art and a restaurant.
