Weightlifting has enjoyed a high profile in the Commonwealth for many years. Weightlifting was on the program for the 2000 Games in Edinburgh making it one of only 3 other sports that will have competed in both Youth Games to date.

The Weightlifting competition will be held at LaTrobe University Evolution Sports & Fitness Centre.
